Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of Ugandan youth by addressing critical issues through evidence-based programs and empowering them to lead healthy and fulfilling lives

As the Executive Director of AYOHREC, I am honored to lead this dedicated organization in its mission to improve the health and well-being of adolescents and youth in Uganda. In a country where over 75% of the population is under the age of 30, it is clear that the health and well-being of this population will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Uganda.

Our focus on critical issues such as drug abuse, mental health, reproductive health, nutrition, prevention, capacity building, and water, sanitation, reflects our commitment to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing this vulnerable population. The statistics are staggering – with over 60% of adolescents in Uganda lacking access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, and nearly 25% of the youth population struggling with mental health issues, there is a clear need for action.

Through our evidence-based programs and initiatives, we are working to create a brighter future for the youth of Uganda, empowering them to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. I am proud of the work that our team does each day to make a positive impact in the communities we serve, and I am confident that together, we can continue to create real and lasting change.

I invite you to join us in our mission and to learn more about the work we do. Together, we can make a difference for the youth of Uganda and help to build a healthier and more prosperous future for all.
